About the Open Studios Art Tour 

The Tour kicks off this year with a fabulous reception Friday, October 1st, at ARTS Space Obispo in SLO, featuring the 6x6(x6) small works exhibit and a beautiful preview show of every artist on the Tour.  

The following weekend, October 9-10, the Tour begins in North County, which includes Los Osos and the north coastal communities of Morro Bay, Cayucos, and Cambria, as well as inland north SLO County - Santa Margarita to Paso Robles.  The second weekend, October 16-17, features southern SLO County, but come back to Los Osos for the Encore Weekend, October 23-24!  

How does it work?  

First, visit www.artsobispo.org to view the catalog and our ad on page 16, or pick up your free catalog at the locations listed.  Consider viewing ARTS Obispo's Online Visual Artists' Directory to help make your selections, or drop by ARTS Space Obispo starting September 15th for the small works show and digital preview.  Pick your favorites, and Saturday morning, gas up and head out to Los Osos to start your Tour off with a bang! 

Welcome to the Los Osos Collective for the Arts!

WHO:

The Los Osos Collective for the Arts is a group of local creatives - painters, sculptors, woodworkers, photographers, and the like - coming together for a common goal.

WHAT:

A new arts organization by and for the artists of the Central Coast, based in beautiful Los Osos, California. 

WHERE:

Home base is lovely little Los Osos, where most members live or create.  Events and art happenings will happen in and around the Valley of the Bears, nestled next to the Estero Bay and Montana d'Oro State Park, a jewel of the Central Coast. 

WHY:

Los Osos is a true artists' colony, a mostly residential coastal community with few sidewalks and fewer rules, a place ideal for solitude, introspection, outdoor living, and inspiration.  It's defined by the nearby "back bay", a strange and wonderful place of shifting tides, shorebirds, communal kayaks, and the salty smell of the estuary, and it's home to a startling number of artists.

Unlike other adjacent communities, Los Osos has long lacked its own arts group.  Given the strong numbers and impressive talent of its resident artists,  the birth of the Los Osos Collective for the Arts was inevitable!  We hope you join us in October for the Open Studios Art Tour - don't forget to enter to win an Amazing Goodie Bag!  See below for more information.
